Organisational Structure and governance
OceanPredict (OP) is an international research & science network for Ocean Prediction, which provides coordination and leadership for the improvement of global and regional ocean analysis and forecasting systems. OceanPredict as a programme is collaborating with national ocean forecasting centres, international organisations, and their relevant programme initiatives and working groups to advance ocean science.
OPAS: The OP Advisory & Sponsors Board (OPAS) provides guidance and funding.
OPEC: The OceanPredict Executive Committee (OPEC) is the group to discuss and decide on OP activities. Its members are the OPST co-chairs, the co-chairs of all task teams, the OPOS-WG co-chairs and the OP programme office coordinators.
OPST: The OceanPredict Science Team is the core group of OceanPredict.
Task Teams (TTs): The OPST has currently six task teams which are contributing to the development of new science capabilities in OceanPredict.
OPOS-WG: The Working Group of the OceanPredict Operational Systems consists of core OPST members who represent the operational forecasting systems in OceanPredict.
OPPO: The OceanPredict Programme Office coordinates OP activities and is responsible for OP communication.
OceanPredict is planning to set up new task team on AI for ocean observing and prediction.
