We’re delighted to launch the 2026 edition of the OceanPredict/ForeSea newsletter and to reconnect with our community for another exciting year ahead. Since our last issue, OceanPredict has continued to strengthen international collaboration, advance key initiatives, and contribute to the goals of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development through the ForeSea Programme.

As we move forward, our community is also embarking on the development of the OceanPredict Implementation Plan. Built around 17 strategic objectives, this collaborative effort will define our priorities for the next five years while shaping a shared vision for ocean prediction beyond the Ocean Decade.

In this edition, we highlight recent achievements across the OceanPredict community, share updates from the OceanPredict’s Task Teams and ForeSea’s activities throught its endorsed projects, and showcase ongoing efforts to advance a more integrated and impactful global ocean information system. By strengthening connections across the operational oceanography value chain, enhancing ocean prediction capabilities, we continue working together to deliver greater societal benefits through ocean science.
