Villy Kourafalou – COSS-TT

Prof. Villy Kourafalou (University of Miami, Department of Ocean Sciences) has been a member of the OceanPredict Science Team and co-chair of the Coastal Ocean and Shelf Seas Task Team since 2009. She is an expert in ocean prediction and associated science support with a focus on coastal and shelf dynamics, interaction of shelf and oceanic flows, boundary currents and eddies, transport and fate of marine pollutants, and biophysical connectivity. She is also interested in the design and optimization of observing systems, serving in the OceanPredict Observing System Evaluation Task Team since 2009.
Villy is leading the Coastal Ocean and Shelf Seas Task Team (COSS-TT) together with Pierre De Mey-Frémaux, LEGOS/CNRS, France.
