Stefania A. Ciliberti is a Senior Scientist at NOW Systems (Madrid, Spain), with over a decade of experience in operational oceanography, numerical modelling, and validation. She holds a PhD in Hydraulics Engineering from the University of Calabria (Italy) in 2012, with expertise in high-performance computational fluid dynamics and advanced numerical simulations of floods events.

She is currently deeply involved in the Copernicus Marine Service, serving as former deputy leader of the Black Sea Monitoring and Forecasting Centre (2018-2022) and currently deputy leader of the Iberia-Biscay-Ireland Monitoring and Forecasting Centre, where she is responsible for product quality, multi-model evaluation, and coordination activities.

She is an active member of ETOOFS (GOOS/IOC-UNESCO) and contributes to the OceanPrediction Decade Collaborative Center, helping in shaping next-generation ocean forecasting systems architectures. Her work focuses on advancing standardized validation frameworks, improving forecast reliability, and strengthening the integration between research and operational services to enhance the impact of ocean predictions.
