Chunxue Yang – IV-TT
Senior Research Scientist at CNR-ISMAR (Rome, Italy)
Chunxue Yang is a Senior Research Scientist at CNR-ISMAR (Rome, Italy) with more than 12 years of experience in physical oceanography, ocean reanalyses, and climate dynamics. She received her PhD in Physical Oceanography from Texas A&M University (2012). Her research addresses multi-scale ocean dynamics, data assimilation, and the evaluation of global and regional ocean reanalyses, with applications to climate variability and extremes in the North Atlantic and Arctic regions.
She coordinates major Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) contracts on Evaluation and Quality Control (EQC) of climate datasets and has led Copernicus Marine Service intercomparison projects on mesoscale variability and global ocean reanalyses. She also involves several European projects such as the ESA-CCI Ocean Surface Heat Flux and CAREHeat projects. She is an active member of the CLIVAR GSOP and the ESMO WGORC. Dr. Yang has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications and supervises multiple PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
