Dr Arya is the scientist-in-charge of the data assimilation team in the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), India. He has been active in research areas like physical oceanography, ocean modeling and data assimilation.

Ocean Predict has been instrumental in gathering all major operational centers around the world, form collaborative teams around multiple tasks and introducing best practices in the field of ocean sciences. It acts as a bridge between various agencies active in operational oceanography.
